LWV members keep busy with a variety of activities: we help register voters, we work with a Coalition of other organizations to sponsor Legislative Forums, we hold Candidate Forums, and we work with other organizations on common issues like water quality.

These Forums begin in late January and go through late March, generally ending with a wrap up Forum in April. They provide local citizens with an opportunity to hear from the legislators regarding bills being considered or passed in the Iowa House and Senate. They also serve as a place to ask questions and interact with the legislators before and after the session.

Forums will be held at the new AEA 267’s new conference center and administrative offices (the former Park Place Events Center), 1521 Technology Parkway, Cedar Falls. As individual sessions are given a topic or focus, we will announce those updates here and on Facebook.

Tuesday, Aug. 29 -- C.F. school board candidates’ forum, 7-9 pm at Cedar Falls City Hall  
Tuesday, Sept. 5 -- Waterloo school board candidates’ forum, Education Service Center at the Waterloo school office, 7 - 8:30 pm.  
Tuesday, Oct. 10 -- C.F. candidates’ forum, 7-9 pm at Cedar Falls City Hall 
Thursday, Oct. 19 -- Waterloo municipal candidates forum, 7-9 pm at Waterloo City Hall. (Date changed due to multiple conflicts)

Country View Study Committee
